Characteristic

 

Using our field-proven Digital Signal Processor (DSP) with SMD techniques, the ORVALDI 6000/10000 series UPS achieves higher reliability and greater immunity from Utility power problems to the connected load. The front panel clearly communicates all major system parameters, system status and full self fault diagnosis for easy servicing. Utilizing our unique patented inverter control technology, the ORVALDI 6000/10000 series achieves N+1 power scaleable parallel redundant UPS system without additional parts.

 

Simple Parallel Installation

For increasing power capacity or making redundant system, the ORVALDI 6000/10000 series can be installed for operation in parallel. Simply connecting the parallel control lines through RJ-45 connector on the rear panel with CAN-bus communication is established to all units. The maximum parallel operation configuration is 4 units.

 

Full-time Digital Signal Processor Control

The full-time DSP control system inside ORVALDI 6000/10000 series provides both the pure sine wave at the output and the perfect sine wave to input current. The advanced DSP technology also provides user-friendly operation and access to system information and unit personalization via the front panel.

 

True Double Conversation On-line Technology

Completely re-generating the clean and safe power to correct the power disturbances in the Utility power source, the Voltage Frequency Independent (VFI) working mode of the ORVALDI 6000/10000 series complies with the exacting EN60240-3.

 

High Input Power Factor and Low Current THD 

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series provides a “clean” rectifier connecting to the Utility power. It meets today’s industry standard for energy saving and low reflected harmonic pollution to the Utility and achieves up to 0.99 at Input Power Factor as well as <5% at Input Current THD.

 

Energy-efficient UPS

The AC to AC efficiency of the UPS may reach up to 91% at 25% load and better with larger loadings and normal VFI operation. Using the ECO mode efficiencies up to 98% can be achieved. 

 

Dual Input Loops

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series provides single input connections as standard; however, separate input terminals for the bypass and rectifier can be provided as an option in the Tower series. Additionally, configuring the 3-phase input & 1-phase output systems at the site are available but they must be ordered as dual input versions.

 

Programmable Frequency Converter

Through front keypad configuration, you may reprogram the ORVALDI 6000/10000 Tower series to be a Frequency Converter for either 50Hz or 60Hz.  To set the Convertible series to be a frequency converter shall be required by a qualified technician.

 

LCD/LED Mimic Panel

A concise LCD/LED display provides real-time status and readings such as operation modes, AC voltage, frequency, battery voltage, load level, inner temperature, etc. A full size microprocessor-based graphical LCD display provides advanced monitoring functions that greatly enhance user friendly operation. 

 

Easy-to-Set User Personalization

Through the LCD front panel, you may easily change the parameters and settings built-in the DSP controllers, such as UPS operation modes, output voltage settings, fine adjustment, synchronization frequency windows (for use with generators), bypass voltage tolerances and buzzer alarm status.

 

Intelligent Self-Diagnostics

The self-diagnostics inside the DSP assists the service engineers to pinpoint system faults rapidly enabling fast repair times. The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series provides a feature to go to service mode and check each device step by step, then display the result on the LCD display. 

 

Silent Fan Control

The ORVALDI 6000 / 10000 series employs air forced cooling by internally mounted fans with speed control according to load percentage. This means low audible noise levels so is suitable for most environments including offices and hospitals.

 

Optional EPO Function

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series enables user to shutdown the UPS in an emergency situation.

 

Smart ECO Mode

In ECO operation mode, the ORVALDI 6000/10000 series normally supplies power to load by Bypass Utility. It will automatically transfer to inverter supply with Smart Active Control, if Bypass Utility is out of tolerance.

 

Maintenance Manual Bypass

It ensures continuous supply of power to the critical load during service or periodical maintenance of the UPS system. The Manual Bypass Switch built is electrically interlocked with the inverter to provide safe operation. The Maintenance Manual Bypass is built onto the rear panel of the UPS as standard for the Tower series and it is built onto a separate Rack Mount cabinet with the galvanic isolation transformer(GTM-WS) or RacPDU-230 as optional for the Convertible series.

Optional Galvanic Isolation Transformer

The galvanic isolation transformer offered may provide not only a complete isolation between input and output, but also various secondary voltages, such as 220/230/240Vac, 208Vac/120Vac and 240Vac/120Vac.

 

Advanced Battery Discharge Management

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series automatically manages the end of discharge voltage according to load. The ABDM function prevents deep-discharge of the built-in battery during a power failure.

 

Cold Start Function

Users can turn on the UPS without connecting to the Utility power for starting applications.

 

Power Range and Runtime Scalability

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series provides excellent return on investment. The system is fully modular allowing you to increase the overall power output, battery runtime and redundancy as your system grows. It is important however that you design your electrical installation to support your needs. Our worldwide network of Distributors can assist you in designing the electrical requirements.

 

Variety of Customer Options Slots

The UPS also provides two additional Customer Option Communication slots in additional to the standard RS232 port.  All communication cards are designed to provide simple installation as electrical connections are made through a 26-pin edge card connector. The first RS232 port on the rear panel will remain active, even though optional communication card(s) are installed.  

 

Communication Capability

The ORVALDI 6000/10000 series are all shipped with monitoring/shutdown software as standard. The software allows not only the control of the UPS and graceful shutdown when the Utility Power fails, but also allows the user to:

l      Remotely test the major operating functions of the UPS.

l      Communicate via SNMP/WEB card.

l      Access UPS functions via the WEB.
